“Thank Goodness It’s Monday”

Lettuce help you start the week off on a heart-healthy foot – we’re going meatless on Mondays! Join us will you? Meatless Mondays is a non-profit initiative in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University that aims to reduce our meat consumption by 15% to improve our health and the health of our planet. Meatless Monday, active in 36 countries, reminds us of all the great reasons to celebrate vegetables and whole grains. It’s a fun and easy way to reduce our carbon footprint created by animal agriculture, while reducing our risk of cancer and heart disease.

In need of some inspiration for incredible vegetarian dishes? We’re doing our part at Culiniste HQ to squash the misconception that a meatless meal cannot be bold and satisfying – with 2 original vegetarian recipes each week that are sure to leave you smiling. Let us know what you think – peas and thank you!

Some tips to keep in mind:

Include beans, nuts, grains and seeds in your Monday meals; they’re rich sources of protein and nutrients that help keep you full

Turn to mushrooms as a great way to incorporate meaty flavour and texture into vegetarian recipes

Bon Appétit!
